Have you ever had one of those days? You know the ones that just feel like “bleh”. You let the world in before the Word, and then you are questioning every part of your life. Your day to day jobs, how you raise your kids, your grades in your classes, how you treat your friends. The list goes on and on until anxiety creeps in, all while Jesus is knocking at the door. Whispering through the cracks, speaking to your heart. Telling you over and over ” but above all, you are so loved”.
I may be alone on this, but I can easily let the world define who I am as a person before I can stand confident in being defined as Jesus’s daughter. Why is that? How can we quickly let the world define us of worthy or unworthy, when our Creator knows us better than the Earthly parents whom raised us. The one whom chose us to spread His glory loud and proud everyday. The world is loud. Technology constantly changing at our fingertips, scrolling through comparisons, and when we feel “stuck” in place, we think God is silent. He may seem silent but He is never still.
The greatest work Christ has done in my heart was when I thought He wasn’t changing a thing. He was behind the scenes, working, molding my future. When we stay committed in the valley of our life it leads us to the victory in the light.
Ephesians 3:14 “For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you be rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge-that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
God’s love is total. All you need in this life. Your identity abides in Christ. It is wide-it reaches to the whole world, it is long-it is with us for eternity, it is high-it rises with us in our celebrations and victories. Above all it is deep-it sticks with us to the depths of our discouraging days, our hopeless moments, our questioning minds. His love empowers us to continue forth, to walk through the valley to reach the mountain top of His glory.
When the world tries to grasp hold of your heart and the feeling of unloved creeps in, remember “flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. ” 1 Timothy 6: 11-12
“For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it” 1 Timothy 6:7
We are here to spread His glory and His truth. We won’t take our job status, bank accounts, and other items with us to Heaven (praise Jesus). We will take His love with us everyday for the rest of eternity. Rest in the glory of His love. At the end of the day, all that matters is His Holy name.
